I was at a concert recently featuring Mary Black. I had never experienced a Mary Black concert before, but I was very familiar with her music, as I grew with my Dad, playing her records and tapes. There is still collection of her music at home somewhere in storage. Her music is available in the shops. There was also merchandise available after the concert, which was held at the Watergate in Kilkenny.
This is a good venue to attend an intimate concert, especially if you have a motorised wheelchair for accessibility.
There is lots of room for me and several other people with limited mobility. Their toilet facilities are limited, not all wheelchairs can fit into the small space. The staff are helpful and there is the use of a ramp at the entrance of the building.
The Watergate has a variety of music concerts and drama shows. They produce a seasonal brochure to keep patrons up to date and give them plenty of notice to come to their favourite show.
